Sentence
Word order: Subject - Object - Verb.
Am / is / are
です is analogous to the English am, is and are.
Number in Japanese
There is no grammatical number in Japanese. 犬 (いぬ) can mean either a dog or dogs.
Particles
Indicates the purpose of the word.
の - indicates possession (of).
から - indicates origin (from).
ある (あります) - to exist (to have).
か - a question.
